Crushing of EPS waste offers added value compared to compacting

Benefits by crushing in comparison with compacting EPS

All our Styropactors are designed to either compact or crush the EPS waste into lumps. The benefits by crushing are numerous:

  • EPS lumps can be granulated with KBM recycling machines into single EPS beads
  • Single EPS beads can be re-moulded into new EPS products and shapes
  • Crushing and granulating EPS waste into valuable EPS beads, is significantly less energy consuming
  • Crushing and granulating EPS waste into valuable EPS beads, offers higher prices in the market
  • There is a large demand for single EPS beads for a variety of applications such as light concrete, bean chairs, moulded EPS products, cavaty wall filling etc. in the market

To utilize the true value of EPS waste, you may consider a KBM recycling system in addition to your KBM Styropactor.

KBM offers complete EPS recycling systems for your crushed EPS

Recycle EPS, EPP, Arcel, Neopor etc. with KBM recycling systems

The KBM recycling systems and complementary units are suitable for handling all materials and come in a variety of designs to suit your specific needs.

KBM Styropactors

The KBM Styropactors are simple machines in the positive sense of the word. They are easy to install, operate and maintain.

A Styropactor consists of a hopper (where you input the EPS waste), a breaker arm and a compactor nose. As such, the compaction is done mechanically and the output is EPS bars of a density between 150-300 kg/m3.

Our product portfolio consists of a range from the Styropactor NANO suited for small shops to Styropactor MAXI XL PLUS suited for industrial production. Whatever your need may be, KBM will be able to recommend you the optimal solution for your company.

Find the right machine for your need

Our Styropactor range covers production capacity from 10 kg/hour and up to 130 kg/hour.

To put a bit more perspective on the capacity, our smalles Styropactor called Styropactor NANO has a capacity of 10-15 fish boxes per hour. Our largest Styropactors compact up to about 200 boxes per hour.

As a rule of thumb, small shops and fisheries do well with our Nano, Micro and Mini Styropactors, while Supermarkets, Large electronic stores and food processing companies typically need a higher capacity with our Styropactor Maxi range.

50 Years of experience with EPS recycling

Since the founding of KBM in 1971, we have been dedicated and loyal to our commitment to generate the highest possible value out of EPS waste through the design of our machines.

Whether you are an EPS moulder or an EPS recycler, you can trust that with KBM machinery, you are ensured state-of-the-art first class machinery, that will perform day af day for many years to come.

We still support KBM machines in the market that have been running for well over 20 years.

Other factors to consider before investing in a KBM Styropactor

Before you decide on which Styropactor fits your need, you also need to consider your existing power supply and the characteristics of your EPS waste.

Our NANO, MICRO and MINI (both 1-phase & 3-phase) Styropactors can be built with 1-phase power supply (like a regular vacuum cleaner) if you do not have 3-phase connections. The MINI and MAXI models are supplied with 3-phase voltage.

The characteristics of your EPS foam waste is also important. You don’t want to invest in a Styropactor and then find out that the hopper is too small for your typical foam waste. Download our technical data sheet for more information on the hopper size, electrical load, capacity etc.
